The Training Instructional Designer is responsible for providing specialist advice and services related to learning and development, including the development of training and assessment materials required to operate a safe and reliable network and to build and maintain competencies required for the workforce. This role will plan, coordinate, monitor and evaluate all on-line and external learning and development activities across the organisation ensuring alignment with the department’s Rail Safety Accreditation strategy and competency framework.
A key focus of the role is implementing the necessary controls to meet rail safety competency training requirements in line with Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) and Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) guidelines. This will involve significant and extensive consultation and liaison across a range of industry stakeholders, including the need to achieve positive and workable collaborations with technical and non-technical staff to support learning and reporting outcomes.

**Qualifications/Experience**
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated knowledge of ASQA Standards for Registered Training Organisations, _Rail Safety National Law (South Australia) Act 2012, WH&S Act and Regulations_.
Previous rail experience is desirable.
**Special Conditions**
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
**Remuneration**
ASO7 - $108,109 to $116,864 pa + superannuation.
