**Salary**: AUD $73,150 per annum, plus super

**Hours**:Full Time Permanent (38 hours per week)

**Location**:94 Kooyong Rd Rivervale

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

This role is responsible for the supervision and coordination of children and staff within your room.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**
- To develop, implement and document an educational program/curriculum for children.
- To provide a safe and stimulating environment for children.
- To care for the day to day needs of children.
- Responsible for the guidance, support, direction and general supervision of staff, students and volunteers working within the room.
- To delegate required tasks to staff.
- Programming for the group.
- Organising equipment and materials for the group’s planned daily activities.
- Observing children’s behaviour and guiding their social development.
- In compliance with the centre and safety policy, ensure a safe and hygienic environment is maintained at all times for staff and children, with particular attention to children with any conditions or special requirements.
- Ensure that accurate records and reports are kept in regard to accident, incident, injury, illness and medication.
- Ensure staff is aware of current thinking and practice in early childhood education, and service delivery.
- Liaise with families in regard to the day-to-day happenings of the room and child’s progress in encouraging centre relationships with families.
- Co-operate and communicate effectively with parents about their child-care needs.
- Promote and maintain positive working relationships with other staff.
- Actively support and co-operate with other staff in their child-care duties.
- Maintain observations and records of individual children’s progress, particularly those identified through staff observation

**ACADEMIC AND TRADE QUALIFICATIONS**:
Minimum qualification required is AQF Diploma level qualification or equivalent with 3 years mandatory relevant work experience. Three years relevant experience will be considered suitable in place of the above qualification

**WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**:

- The ability to plan, implement and document a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children;
- To follow regulations, policies and procedures;
- To have the ability to delegate in an efficient manner;
- To have strong communication and organizational skills;
A working with children checks and clear character record is also required for this role.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Work Location: In person
