An Outstanding Federal Government agency, driving essential services for a national audience are seeking **a** skilled and experienced **Security Specialist **to join a fast-paced Agile national team based in **Canberra**. You will be performing a review, making recommendations, implementing and documenting selected recommendations in relation to some or all of the following ISM (Essential 8) and PSPF areas within the department You will secure a contract that is for a minimum 12 months starting ASAP at a rewarding hourly rate

**The successful Security Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to**
- Managing privileged Identity Management/Role-based access control
- Protecting and preventing Information Data Loss
- Performing Cloud Security Posture Management
- Administrating host configuration and hardening
- Creating treatment planning activities outlined in various security documents
- Analysing Insider risk policy and controls

**The successful Security Specialist will need the below**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as **a Security **Specialist working with a security focus on system design, development and engineering.
- Demonstrated experience with implementing security controls in Microsoft solutions and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Sentinel etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant information security standards and their applicability, including but not limited to, the PSPF and ISM controls.
- Proven work experience in developing and updating security policies, plans and procedures for government entities.
- Strong ability and experience working with Cloud systems, such as AWS or Azure
- Experience in information security threat modelling and secure development lifecycles
