**The Role**
The key duties of the APS 3 Administration Officer occupation in Defence include the following:
- Perform straightforward operational, procedural, administrative and business support tasks and maintain accurate records and files in accordance with relevant Defence work practices, procedures and policies.
- Build and sustain relationships with team members, stakeholders and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Listen to internal and external stakeholders and respond under limited direction to changes in stakeholder needs and expectations to achieve outcomes.
- Collect and consolidate data and information and provide assistance in the preparation of written submissions, reports and other correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
- Select the appropriate course of action to progress work to meet business objectives, seek advice and guidance on more complex issues.
**About our Team**
You will be part of a small, but highly motivated team within an orderly room function, working directly to and with a uniformed member at the rank of Corporal. The team provides administrative advise and solutions to unit members, while dealing with other external agencies regarding deliverable services.
To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent customer service skills and will need to network with customers and stakeholders. You will need a good level of computer literacy including MS Word, Excel and Outlook skills, experience and understanding of general business administration processes and functions would be a benefit.
Problem solving and time-management skills would be highly desirable. You will undertake your role in accordance with legislation and Defence policies. Business activities will be completed with a focus on efficiency and continual improvement.

- Be capable of working with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders
- Manage the needs of the customers to meet and exceed their expectations
- Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, and adaptable
