Care & Living with Mercer (CaLM) is a unique service helping ageing Australians and their carers understand and more easily access care and living options. The guidance and advice is made available to Australians through their employer or Superannuation fund as a benefit, via selected financial advisors or to consumers directly. CaLM has the goal of being the most widely used service of its kind in Australia.
As the Care Consultant Leader of CaLM, you will lead a team of compassionate Care Consultants delivering support to families across Australia. You’ll lead the team nationally, as well as be hands on as the Senior Consultant in Victoria. In addition, you will be a thought leader in the Aged Care field and comfortable presenting at conferences, webinars and client meetings. As the Aged Care expert, you’ll provide personalised guidance to families making crucial decisions regarding care for their loved ones and have intricate knowledge of the processes and emotional behavioural aspects for living at home with home care, moving into retirement village or residential aged care or end of life preparation scenarios.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead a team of Care Consultants, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a culture of excellence
- Cultivate a collaborative and supportive environment within the Care Consultant team, encouraging knowledge-sharing and professional growth
- Direct workflow effectively to provide developmental opportunities, mentoring and coaching
- Empathetically guide families through the aged care decision-making process, offering personalised assistance and expert advice
- Create tailored solutions that address the unique needs and circumstances of each customer
- Be an active member of the CaLM Leadership team, attending and participating in leadership meetings, executing on strategic initiatives, sharing and developing intellectual capital, and collaborating on best practices
- Build market presence by leading and presenting at industry seminars and conferences, sharing insights, innovations, and best practices in aged care decision-making
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to provide accurate and relevant advice and leadership
- Collaborate closely with customers and their financial planners to develop comprehensive care plans that consider both financial implications and emotional well-being
- Act as a dedicated advocate for customers, ensuring that their preferences and requirements are communicated effectively to care providers
- Conduct consultations with families, providing clear explanations of available care options, the overall process and behavioural steps to maximise outcomes
- Assist families in deciphering complex information related to aged care, alleviating confusion and offering clarity
- Ensure consistent quality assurance throughout the team in delivering services
**What you need to have**:
- Extensive experience within the aged care sector, with a deep understanding of the challenges and intricacies
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and empathetic manner
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers, their families, and financial planners to achieve holistic care solutions
- Empathy and sensitivity towards the emotional aspects of aged care decision-making
- Proven track record of successfully advocating for customers' best interests and ensuring their preferences are respected
