**Aquatic Centres**

Bayside Council currently operates two Aquatic Centres, Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre (Bexley) and Botany Aquatic Centre. Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre was opened in 2016 after undergoing a major redevelopment. The Centre includes an indoor and outdoor pool, grandstand, gym and group fitness spaces, community and retail spaces, kiosk, and aqua play facilities.

**About the Role**

If you are passionate about fitness and are looking for a leadership opportunity within the Aquatics industry, this is the job for you The role will lead and inspire a team to provide high standard Aquatic programs.

This exciting new role will also work with the Aquatic Centres Manager on the transition project of Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre to a direct service delivery model.

You can also expect to;
- Develop, supervise, and monitor aquatics programs to deliver a high standard of service to customers and compliance with all legislative requirements, industry standards, regulations, best practice and within budget allocations.
- Engage, develop, and inspire a cohesive team of Swim School Teachers and Coaches to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Provide support, guidance and coaching to the reporting staff and other team members to assist build team capacity.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to child safe practices and standards.
- Maintain administration of enrolments and programs, develop and implement strategies with relevant stakeholders to promote the Aquatic Programs to customers.
- Prepare rosters to ensure that each swim lesson has adequate and appropriately skilled instructors and cover lessons where required.
- Interact and communicate effectively with children and parents to ensure that they are aware of technique, skill level and progress.
- Initiate new ideas and innovative approaches to enhance aquatic programs.
- Recognise and respond effectively in emergencies in accordance with Council’s emergency action plans.
- Develop and administer budgets to support programs in consultation with the Centre Manager.
- Ensure performance targets are established and develop and provide reports on program and individual performance.
- Be responsible for the maintenance of equipment, cleanliness of the Centres and setting up and putting away of all equipment as required.
- Actively contribute to the review of policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Respond to customer requests and/or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair, and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
- Maintain effective probity, risk management and anti-corruption (including fraud) measures in performing Council duties.
- Work in collaboration with and assist the team, Manager, and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.
- Undertake other tasks and actions as assigned by the Supervisor

**About You**

We are looking for a someone who has:

- Experience in developing, administering and leading Aquatic programs.
- Current Austswim Certificate for Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or equivalent
- Current Senior First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Experience providing excellent customer service.
- Experience in administering aquatic and leisure centre software and systems.
- Current Driver’s Licence Class C, or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends. However, commencing and finishing times will be flexible and depend on operational needs. Ability to work flexibly is essential Experience in staff management including rostering, recruitment, and performance management.
