A great opportunity has become available for an experienced **Systems Engineering Manager **to join the team in Rydalmere**.**

The Systems Engineering Manager will be focused on producing consistent specification according to our customer needs, and perform a subset of all System Engineering activities required to develop a solution from the needs analysis to the IVVQ activities.

**RESPONSIBILITIES (Key accountabilities and responsibilities)***

The key areas of responsibility for the Systems Engineer Manager are:

- Lead the engineering team in the conduct of assigned tasks in projects, bids and R&D programs
- Manage engineering activities to ensure compliance with corporate and local engineering policies, processes and procedures; and applicable technical specifications and standards.
- Develop any required policies, processes and procedures where these do not exist.
- Co-ordinate work performed by integrated product teams to ensure the successful development and implementation of related engineering programs (e.g. Installation, EMI/EMC, Safety, Security, Environmental, Production, ILS).
- Provide engineering leadership to engineering and technician teams.
- Take the lead technical role in the preparation of quotations, proposals, tender responses and similar documents as directed.
- Provide engineering advice to Project Management.
- Act as Work Package Manager for engineering projects as delegated.
- Provide technical endorsement / sign off for quotations, proposals, tender responses and similar documents.
- Act as the primary technical interface with customer organisations, providing engineering advice, technical support and liaison.
- Attend and participate in regular departmental and project meetings.
- Prepare for, direct, and participate in, key engineering reviews, for example: System
- Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews and Configuration Control Boards

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Engineering Degree suitable to achieve membership of Engineers Australia (MIEAust) in relevant Communications, Computing, or Electronics related field.

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE**
- Engineering experience in the design and implementation Defence and / or Commercial communication networks or similar complex electronic systems.
- Experience working within a Systems Engineering lifecycle.
- Experience with authoring/reviewing technical documentation.
- Extensive experience in management of engineering design / technical maintenance.
- Demonstrated, well-developed team leadership abilities.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills.
- A high level of analytical and / or problem solving skills.
