- About the Role- Support AGL’s fleet of wind farms across VIC or SA-
- Work alongside Australia’s best and brightest minds- Responsible for safe and reliable operation and maintenance of AGL’s fleet of wind farms with a focus on technical leadership and mentoring of site staff, our Lead Technicians are the senior technical field experts of our wind fleet and second in charge of our sites.
- We are recruiting for multiple positions to support the following wind farm sites across Victoria and South Australia:
- Macarthur Wind Farm (VIC)-
- Oaklands Hill Wind Farm (VIC)-
- Wattle Point Wind Farm (SA)-
- Hallett Wind Farm - (SA)-
- Hallett Hill Wind Farm (SA)-
- North Brown Hill Wind Farm (SA)-
- Bluff Wind Farm (SA)In your new role of Lead Technician, you will provide technical leadership for the site’s Service Technician’s, HV Operators and Senior Technicians in performing all wind farm operations and maintenance activities. Supporting the Site Supervisor in championing health, safety and environmental care, you will take the lead on the job training, mentoring, support troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role is primarily field based, with a blend of site office work to collaborate with the Site Supervisor in preparing site plans and technical administration (e.g training, rostering). You will be supported by a well-staffed site of Service Technicians, HV Operators/Senior Technicians, a dedicated Site Supervisor as well as AGL’s extensive network of eBOP staff, operations, engineering, and other support functions.

What you’ll be doing
- Reporting to the Site Operations Supervisor, you will:
- Support site Service Technician’s in performing scheduled wind turbine maintenance.-
- Act as second in charge of the site, working in close collaboration with the Site Supervisor.Leading shift start toolboxes, hazard identification and proactive risk management activities.About You
- While upholding the highest standards of health, safety and environmental care, treating others with respect and striving for excellence in your work, you will contribute to a positive team environment and be motivated to deliver to a high standard.

What you’ll bring to the table- Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualification along with Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training, qualifications in working at heights safety, manual handling, HV/LV rescue, fire awareness, and first aid would be advantageous.-
- High Voltage Certification is highly preferred.-
- Extensive experience as a technician in the operations and maintenance of wind farms.-
- Extensive experience with works management (PTW, LOTO, Switching Operations).-
- Strong communication and interpersonal problem solving skills and experience leading, supporting, training and mentoring teams.-
- Willingness to work at heights and in confined environments.-
