**About the Position**

As a Buyer at WHSmith Australia, you will be responsible for our Tech Journey Solutions & Telco categories and will take ownership of the day-to-day operations and growth of those areas.

You will be responsible for the growth of InMotion across Australia, including for 2 standalone InMotion sites in Perth and Gold Coast Airports.

Your main priority is to meet the needs of our customers within the challenging travel retail market, whilst delivering profit targets.

**Other key responsibilities include**:

- Sourcing and developing supplier relationships so that the organisation’s opportunities to buy the right merchandise at the right price at the right time are maximised
- Grow and develop new areas of business identified as strategic growth opportunities
- Identify market trends by researching, product history, supplier information, current trends, and competitor activity
- Analysis of historical statistical data by reviewing sales, profit, stock-turn, markdowns, by colour, subclass, and supplier performance
- Conducting regular analysis of sales, margins, stock levels and markdowns and revaluate merchandise plan accordingly
- Maintain collaborative relationships with stores through regular visits and phone calls
- Proven experience as a Buyer (3 years minimum)
- Experience as a Tech Buyer is preferable
- Exceptional negotiation skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market information
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
- A results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting targets
