**About the Company**

WHSmith is an historic British retailer focusing on news, books and convenience, and is a renowned, competitive leader in the travel market worldwide. Our Australian operations, under which 7 brands currently operate, are rapidly expanding and since WHSmith is expected to continue this growth, we are looking for an experienced Space Planner to join us on this journey.

**About the Role**

The Space Planner position is to create planograms for all our core categories.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Working with Buyers and Store operation to develop store planograms based on customer shopping behaviours
- Analyse product adjacencies to adjust layouts to increase sales and ATV for each store
- Analysis of data (margin, rate of sale analysis etc.) to ensure optimum range construction and ongoing improvement of the customer offer
- Work with vendors and buyers to obtain product information and pictures needed to capture planograms and maintain POG library
- Works with Buyers to maintain planogram integrity in support of store operations team
- Creating and maintaining planograms in-house using Spaceman

**Skills & Experience**
- Relevant work experience in a commercial/analytical role, graduates will also be considered with relevant work experience in retail management, merchandising or supply chain
- Advanced Excel Skills/sound working knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables/V-Look Ups) and an ability to interpret detailed reports
- High level of numeracy
- Ability to understand layouts and floor plans
- Strong administration skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong commercial skills and market interpretation
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Engaging, influencing and negotiation
