**About the Role**

Schools as Community Centres (SaCC) projects are located in NSW public schools in communities experiencing marked challenges of disadvantage.

SaCC facilitators are responsible for coordinating and managing a range of community engagement initiatives and programs to enhance the early learning and wellbeing of children ranging from birth to 8 years of age. SaCC facilitators utilise a child-focused, family centred prevention and early intervention service model.

Wiley Park Public School is a primary school established in 1984 and situated in South West Sydney. The school population comprises of approximately 538 students from diverse cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. There are 22 mainstream classes including 4 Support Unit classes. 99% of students are from language backgrounds other than English (LBOTE). The current school Family Occupation and Empoyment Index is 118. The school population is a high transit community. There are 43 languages and 35 countries of origin represented in the school, the largest language groups being Arabic (37%), Bengali (18%), Urdu (11%), and Indonesian (4%). Student learning is supported by various programs including English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) and New Arrivals programs, Community Languages in Arabic, Bengali and Samoan as well as intervention programs. Our onsite Community programs operate in the School as Community Centre (SaCC). Programs are focused on supporting our school community with a range of engagement initiatives and programs targeting families with young children 0-5 years especially transition to school groups. Wiley Park Public School has productive partnerships with the Australian College of Physical Education, Sydney University, Western Sydney University, Notre Dame University, Campsie Police Command, Lebanese Muslim Association, Bankstown Women's Centre and Riverwood Community Centre.The school has a committed staff and strong partnerships with all families.
