Our client is a growing professional services firm with multiple operations across Victoria and Queensland. Due to continued growth and expansion of the firm, they are looking for a forward-thinking professional Chief Operating Officer to join their close-knit team to guide the efficient delivery of operational systems and teams that support their continued growth and Fee earners.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of this highly successful and fast-growing group. On the back of years of continued growth, they are looking for an experienced executive to join the group in this newly created role of COO and work in collaboration with the Managing Partners to guide the strategic direction of the firm and take ownership of the operational management & ongoing improvements across the group.
**The Role**
This role has primary responsibility for the business, financial and non-legal aspects of the firm. Reporting to the Managing Partners, it will have responsibility for strategic and operational planning and oversee business units including, Finance, Technology, Human Resources and Property. Key duties will include;
General Management & Strategy
- Collaborate with the partners in setting and driving firm vision, operational strategy, business succession and recruitment needs.
- Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organisation-wide goal setting, performance management and annual operational planning.
- Define and implement productivity metrics, to accurately measure and improve firm efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor team performance with tracking and recommend corrective or reward measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting.
Operational Management
- Manage key leaders across Human Resources, Technology & Finance to ensure the business units are operating in line with requirements and making improvements on operating processes as required.
- Support the firm's marketing and business development activities, including website, advertising, social media, events, articles and communication.
- Develop and maintain all operating and administrative procedures and policies of the firm.
- Oversee all office administration, including facilities, maintenance, office services, insurance, purchasing, and special projects.
System & Process Improvement
- Refine and maintain the firm's technology infrastructure to minimise waste and maximize internal efficiencies within the firm.
- Manage the digital assets of the firm and the firm's IT contractors and consultants.
- Oversee the management of the practice management and document management systems and work towards continuous improvement of the systems.
- Review current internal audit processes and make recommendations for improvements to procedures to minimise errors.
**About You**You will be degree qualified in business related discipline and have several years' experience leading change in a professional services environment, with a strong understanding of a partnership business structure**.**As the COO, you will be a strategic thinker with the ability to keep up to date with changes in the market to ensure the firm has the resources and business discipline necessary to grow and prosper. You will be comfortable implementing and executing decisions of the partnership, as well as influencing and implementing strategic & operational plans.
Lastly, you will value and respect the contributions made by all employees and encourage personal and professional development at all levels of the firm while maintaining trusted and productive relationships with the partners of the firm.
