The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Media Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia
You will
- Prepare media and other communication materials
- Liaise with Queensland Health and the Minister's Office for media opportunities and issue management
- Ensure all materials produced and activities undertaken are high quality, accurate and consistent, and appropriately tailored for the relevant audience/situation and follows Gold Coast Health brand standards
- Contribute to and maintain a pre-planned social media calendar, featuring engaging content from across the various service areas of Gold Coast Health
- Assist in maintaining and updating media unit policies and procedures

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification and track record in proactive and reactive media relations and social media management would be well regarded
- While not mandatory, strong writing and photography skills are essential, with video production highly regarded
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), and COVID 19
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $94 759 - $103 102 per annum

As a multi-disciplinary team, the unit's contribution covers planning for and delivering media relations, issues and crisis management communication, strategic marketing, and communication plans for major projects and initiatives. The team also covers internal and change communication, website and online development and content management, publications, multi-media requirements, community engagement and consumer participation, events planning, advertising, branding and logo and policy information and is based at Southport.
