We are currently seeking a Human Factors Advisor to join the Metro Tunnel Project.
**The Role**
Reporting into the Senior Human Factors Specialist, the Human Factors Advisor exists to effectively carry out activities listed in the Human Factors Integration Plan (HFIP) for the Metro Tunnel Project (MTP), on behalf of Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM). This will include facilitating a seamless relationship within the Rail Network Alliance to achieve continuous reduction of risk exposure and management of HF requirements while having a proactive approach to human system integration.
This role is embedded within the Rail Network Alliance and will report into the Deputy Director

- metro employee) on a day to day basis and will work closely with the Project’s Quality Function.
**Responsibilities**- Demonstrate that HFI is occurring for the Alliance in accordance with the Alliance HFIP and in accordance with the process set out in the Human Factors Management Plan (HFMP); do this by ensuring successful completion of activities identified by the HF Manager.-
- Attend and provide input at RNA risk assessments in support of HF integration into safety assurance; do this by effectively tracking actions against HF issues listed in the Human Factors Issues Log (HFIL) and ensuring adequate HF controls are in place to mitigate risks.-
- Undertake or assist with the delivery of HF awareness-raising activities within the RNA and external stakeholders as needed to support early and effective HFI; do this by periodically engaging with HF teams across MTM, attending HF workshops and by ensuring HF activities conducted are agreed with relevant stakeholders.-
- Work in conjunction with the RNA Engineering team to have active involvement in the RNA Verification and Validation (V&V) process from an HF perspective; do this by ensuring HF assurance is linked to RNA's V&V activities and safety milestones spread across different stages of the project. All HF assurance provided must be verified and validated. V&V activities shall be conducted using drawings, Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, mock-ups, prototypes and on final designs with SMEs and end user groups.-
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the SHE Cultural Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations;**About You**- A tertiary qualification in HF Engineering preferred or HF related Organisational Psychology, Ergonomics.-
- Demonstrated industry experience in HF (rail industry preferred but not mandatory).Working knowledge of human-centred design standards is desirable, including:- ISO 9241 suite (Ergonomics of human-system interaction)-
- ISO 6385 (Ergonomics principles in the design of work systems)-
- ISO 18529 (Ergonomics of human-system interaction - Human centred lifecycle process descriptions)-
- EN 50126 (desired EN50129)-
- AS7470 Human Factors Engineering Integration-
