**About the role**

The Claims Assessor - Claims Review role is responsible for completing independent reviews of death and disablement claims and effectively communicating the outcome to customers on behalf of the Trustee. This role includes assessment and recommendations for self insured claims on behalf of the Trustee. The completion of reviews and claims assessment includes successfully managing customer and third party relationships in alignment with Customer Engagement strategies.
As a Claims Assessor - Claims Review, you will also provide support and coaching to Australian Retirement Trust staff on complex and contested claims, including objections to Trustee decisions and claims related complaints including those escalated to the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal.
You will deliver excellent service to Australian Retirement Trust customers and third parties in relation to declined and disputed claims, and will represent the Trustee in external dispute resolution and litigation related conciliation conferences as required. You must establish and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with all parties, and liaise with customers in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
**About you**
If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications will include:
- Demonstrated experience in claims assessment and review based on the associated legislation that operates within the superannuation environment.
- A genuine passion for customer service and the ability to inspire and lead others to outstanding customer experiences.
- Advanced stakeholder management capability, with experience managing multiple stakeholders, including C-suite and external parties, to influence and negotiate outcomes of a complex nature.
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills and dispute resolution techniques.
- Ability to negotiate and liaise at all levels in a sensitive and appropriate manner, representing the members and the clients’ interests with integrity.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - competent at producing both Trustee Board recommendation reports and documentation for the appeals tribunal.
- Highly developed business and commercial acumen demonstrated through communication of complex issues, assessment of risk and improvement recommendations.
- A high level of technical competence in Superannuation and Insurance.
