About the Role

We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Claims Assessor (internally known as a Claims Administrator) to join our dynamic Claims and Benefits team in a full-time, continuing position.

In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring a seamless experience for our members by delivering outstanding customer service and applying your claims expertise across Teachers Health's range of health fund products and services.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and processing health insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
  • Handling payment requirements and providing clear, timely information in response to enquiries.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the business's products, processes, and industry regulations.
  • Communicating with members in plain language across multiple channels – phone, email, and face-to-face.
  • Collaborating closely with your team to share knowledge, manage workload, and maintain high service standards.

About you

You are naturally curious, thorough, and thrive in roles where accuracy and empathy matter. With a genuine passion for helping people, you'll bring a member-first approach to everything you do.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong data entry and customer service skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in a fast-paced claims environment (health insurance or similar) highly regarded, though not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small, supportive team.
  • Previous experience in the Private Health Industry will be highly valued.
