Immediate start - Melbourne CBD location **Your new role** Government agency requires an experienced People Services Business Partner for a full-time, 12 month contract based in Melbourne CBD for an immediate start. You will be a HR generalist with strong business partnering experience and a solution focussed approach. You will work proactively with the leadership team and colleagues in designated client groups to ensure that People Services needs of the business are met and that people related issues are resolved in a timely manner. **Responsibilities and tasks**: Key responsibilities of the role will include: - providing advice, support and guidance to leaders on people matters. Collaborating with People Services colleagues to ensure an integrated and consistent approach to the delivery of People Services - developing and maintaining effective partnering relationships with leaders and their people to identify and respond to trends, emerging business issues and needs - identifying new opportunities for People Services to add value to the business and to support effective implementation of People Services strategies, policies and procedures - Seeking guidance from and work collaboratively within the People Services team to case manage people matters (Work Cover, Performance Management, Grievance, etc.), ensuring that advice is consistent and business focussed - Contributing to and where required develop and review Policies, Procedures and Processes as part of the People Services policy framework ensuring a relevant and current suite of policies, guidelines and procedures which are compliant with relevant legislative requirements - Contributing to and, where appropriate, manage a range of People Services processes, projects and initiatives to ensure timely and effective delivery of agreed outcomes, ensuring that all legislative responsibilities are met including: managing change management processes relating to the relevant industrial instruments and providing organisational transformation support to ensure long term effectiveness of changes - Leading, supporting and participating in recruitment activities for vacancies that occur within the designated client group **What you'll need to succeed** Attributes and skills required to be successful in this role include: - Experience in a similar advisory or business partner and leadership role with a sound working knowledge of the relevant state and federal industrial relations and other employment related legislation. - Extensive experience guiding and supporting managers through various HR processes such as recruitment and selection, misconduct and performance management. - Highly developed communication skills (written & verbal) including the proven ability to confidently address complex and sensitive people issues across all levels of an organisation. - Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with people at all levels. - Highly developed organisational and coordination skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast paced environment. - Be a team player with flexibility to assist and interact with a diverse range of people. **Qualifications** - Tertiary qualification in Human Resources - Prior experience preferably within a government environment or a multi-layered, complex organisation **What you need to do now** Please click "APPLY NOW" forwarding a copy of your resume and cover letter highlighting your human resources experience, your experience in developing integrated solutions to people issues and your suitability for the role.
