**The Role**
As the APS 6 Data Mobility Team Lead, you will be primarily responsible for managing the team providing responsive and secure movement of data to meet dynamic AGO, Defence and partner agency requirements. You will develop innovative technical approaches and standardise new processes to take advantage of emerging opportunities in an evolving technology environment, aligned to the AGO Data Strategy and the broader Defence Data Strategy. You will direct a dispersed team, communicate goals and objectives, prioritise customer requirements and deliver expected outcomes within defined timeframes. Please Note: This role includes occasional ad-hoc work outside of regular business hours in response to operational requirements; you must have the willingness and ability to conduct overtime in conjunction with the team. Please Note: Due to the nature of this role, duties are to be conducted from the Canberra Data Mobility site only. Work from home is not offered as part of this role.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. For further information, please contact the contact officer.

**About our Team**
The Data Mobility team provides mission-critical support to AGO, Defence and National Intelligence Community partners by facilitating high-frequency movement of geospatial data and products across and between a number of computer networks and security domains. The team ensures AGO data is accessible by customers, wherever and whenever it is needed to support both exercise and operational requirements. The Data Mobility team is an innovative process-driven work area, bringing together technical skills with information security policies to navigate evolving technology opportunities and risks, and growing requirements for data to enable Australian Government decision-making.

If you are technically savvy, have a high attention to detail, are comfortable working within a small geographically dispersed team, possess strong communication skills, work well to multiple competing priorities, and want to learn about AGO’s data systems while contributing to a critical AGO function, then we would like to hear from you.
- The ability to lead in a consultative and responsive high-performing team-based environment.
- A strong customer and stakeholder focus, with the ability to build and sustain internal and external relationships to achieve outcomes.
- Personal drive and initiative to implement current and develop new business processes.
- Willingness to undertake semi-regular travel for official purposes.
- Willingness to perform duties outside of regular business hours in response to operational requirements.
- Effective time management including the ability to prioritise competing workloads, and meet tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer engagement skills.
- Experience with or ability to develop an understanding of Australian Government data management practices and processes.
- Experience with operating and an understanding of ICT infrastructure including removable media.
