**The Role**
An APS 6 analyst or team leader in I&I is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex Geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) work.
They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. They are expected to work independently and are accountable for achieving outcomes. They are expected to coach or lead a team to set and achieve work priorities. They are required to identify, anticipate and respond to AGO’s stakeholders needs and expectations to achieve Defence outcomes.
Day to day, an APS 6 analyst and team lead performs the following tasks to achieve outcomes:
- Lead and conduct complex imagery and GEOINT analysis in support of national and Defence interests.
- Coordinate the delivery of analytical products that comply with standard procedures and legislative requirements.
- Provide advice on complex GEOINT analysis and make recommendations on the use of appropriate tradecraft.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with a wide range of national and international stakeholders.
- Facilitate direction for the team and be accountable for achieving accurate completion of work within time frames.
- Share own expertise and mentor others.
