Project Procurement Officer - New Mining Project - Based Perth CBD

Exciting newly created role for a Project Procurement Officer to work on a new Processing Plant for mid-sized resources client.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Project Purchasing Officer is responsible for ensuring that goods and services are procured efficiently and in accordance with policies and procedures.

The primary responsibilities include:

- Checking to ensure appropriate authorisation on Purchase Requisitions, and other relevant internal and external documents.
- Requesting quotations, evaluating bids, negotiating, and evaluating proposals from Suppliers and Contractors.
- Negotiating and the award of a variety of Purchase and Service Orders including Spare Parts and Consumable orders; Capital Equipment orders; Consultancy Agreements; Rental or Lease Agreements; orders for the provision of mechanical, electrical, or other trades labour performed on a lump sum or schedule of rates basis; lower-level mechanical, electrical, civil, construction or capital works contracts.
- Checking to ensure that Request for Quote (RFQ) summaries and purchase order documents are accurate and professionally prepared.
- Proactive expediting of department Purchase Orders.
- Assisting with invoice queries to ensure prompt payment to vendors.
- Effectively utilising the computerised procurement and materials management systems, with specific emphasis on contractor/supplier performance.
- Resolve problems with resource allocation priorities, time constraints, contracts, vendor performance, payment release, transport, and logistics.

Required:

- Experience in Project Procurement / supply
- Competent in usage of Excel Spreadsheet, and other MS Suites
- Experience in the use of ERP system (ideally SAP).

Preferences for
- Understanding of the Supply Chain process
- Experience in the oil and gas, chemical processing or mining and manufacturing industry
- Basic understanding of account processing and related ERP Modules/ systems.

This role is based in the Client’s project office, which is in Perth CBD and does offer some work from home once you are up and running. The project is expected to last in excess of 24 months. A rate in the region of $70 - $90ph + super is on offer depending on your level of experience.
