**Remuneration**: MAS3 - Salary ($127,859 p.a.).

**About the opportunity**:
The Assistant Director, Taxation Services is a senior leadership position within the Financial Services business unit of Shared Services SA. Financial Services provides Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Taxation Services to a wide range of SA Government agencies.

Taxation Services encompass statutory reporting requirements, taxation compliance activities and provision of advice on all matters relating to Goods and Services Tax (GST), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Payroll Tax (PRT).

The Assistant Director is responsible for leading the effective delivery of timely and high-quality Taxation Services to SA Government client agencies in accordance with the established Service Level Determinations, performance measures, and legislative requirements. The role will assist the Director, Financial Services with strategic direction, client engagement and relationship management, operational management and identifying and managing risks within the business.

The Assistant Director will be required to oversee business changes and continuous improvement initiatives across the Financial Services directorate to ensure the required business benefits are achieved.

**About you**

To be successful you will have:

- A degree level qualification in accounting, finance, economics (or equivalent) and eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body.
- Demonstrated the ability to lead and manage a complex service delivery orientated business.
- Demonstrated experience in driving change to strategically remodel the delivery of service functions, achieve efficiencies, and deliver a business and customer centric service.
- Experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, to facilitate cooperation and support in achieving outcomes and to establish and maintain strong effective working relationships, including strong written and oral communication.
- Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, including an ability to respond creatively to issues raised, thereby providing not only advice on issues but to develop alternative acceptable solutions.
- Proven experience in implementing business reform, change management processes and operational management within a Financial Services environment.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and administering Service Level Agreements.
- Proven ability to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines, remain focused on key objectives and manage competing activities and tasks in a demanding work environment.
- An awareness of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct, EEO and cultural inclusion.
- Contributed to the promotion and implementation of Public Sector Principles and Practices and in particular Equal Opportunity, Work Health and Safety by adhering to the provisions of various Acts and associated legislation.
