Document Controller

Our client is a consulting organisation that focuses on industrial technology, particularly in the mining, minerals, and energy sectors. They are involved in redefining IT (Information Technology), OT (Operational Technology), and ET (Engineering Technology) within these industries. They provide consulting services to support industrial projects and aim to help these projects reach their full potential through technology strategy and high-end services.
This is a 6-12 month daily rate contract opportunity, with a possible extension; based in Adelaide These engagements sit with their clients in the Utilities / Energy & Defence sectors.
**The main responsibilities for this initial engagement are**:
- Establishing and maintaining document control systems and procedures.
- Ensuring that all documents are properly filed, organised, and easily accessible.
- Managing the distribution and retrieval of documents.
- Ensuring that all documents comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Keeping up to date with changes in standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Tracking document versions and maintaining a record of changes.
- Ensuring that only the latest versions of documents are in circulation.
- Reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure document quality.
- Assisting project teams and other departments with document-related inquiries and issues.
- Providing training and support to staff on document control processes and systems.
- Managing the archiving of documents, ensuring that historical records are preserved and accessible as needed.
- Generating reports on document control activities and metrics.
- Providing updates to management on the status of document management initiatives.
- Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective document control.
- Facilitating communication and collaboration across teams regarding document-related matters.
- Utilising document management software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Keeping abreast of technological advancements and recommending improvements to document control systems.
- Background in IT, OT, and ET within mining, minerals, energy or defence sectors.
- Experience in providing strategic technology consulting services to industrial projects.
- Strong skills in data analysis, business process modelling, and technology assessments.
- Knowledge of project lifecycles and methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools used in industrial technology projects.
