**About the Northern Centre Against Sexual Assault**

NCASA is the regional sexual assault support service for the Northern Metropolitan region of Melbourne and a department of Austin Health.

NCASA provides therapeutic counselling to adults and young people over the age of 12 years, who have experienced sexual assault in the past or recently, and to their non-offending family members and friends. NCASA provides a range of services including 24-hour crisis care for victims of a recent sexual assault, counselling, group work, advocacy, secondary consultation and training for other professionals and community education. NCASA is involved in a range of activities aimed at preventing gender-based violence.

**About the role**

Demonstrating leadership and an extensive understanding of the field, the Program Lead will, in conjunction with the Manager of NCASA, take a leading role in department planning and development, strategic planning, quality improvement, policy review and development and ensuring that the clinical service is aligned with organisational & service sector objectives, professional standards and ethics.

They will be leaders in building professional knowledge on the prevention, causes, impacts, and on recovery after sexual violence, with an emphasis on quality, research and program evaluation.

Clinically, this role includes the expert provision of assessment, therapeutic intervention, advocacy and psychoeducation to people impacted upon by sexual assault and the supervision of senior clinical and administration staff.

All NCASA services are delivered within a clearly articulated intersectional feminist, rights based and trauma informed practice framework.

**To be successful in this role you'll bring with you**:

- Relevant formal qualifications and registrations (as applicable) in Social Work or Psychology.
- At least 10 years of experience providing sexual assault or trauma counselling.
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, service redesign & strategic planning.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and a sound ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
