Logistics Purchasing Assistant role located western suburbs of Melbourne.

Hays are proud to be partnered with this global organisation that have made their mark within the retail industry that import a range of products into Australia and distribute them to major businesses such as Bunnings and much more throughout the country. They are seeking a Logistics Purchasing Assistant to manage the day-to-day aspects of product and purchase order management.

Your new role

As the Logistics Purchasing Assistant for this company, you will be responsible for:

- Overall responsibility for timely purchase order management.
- Close liaison will be required with the relevant Buyer or Merchandise Manager.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring that all purchase order details are confirmed in a timely manner, are accurate, and processed accordingly.
- Ensuring all parties are updated with any changes.
- Overall responsibility for data integrity, and where significant changes are posed, the correct authorisation gained, and changes updated in all systems.
- Ensure all updates are reflected across all systems ASAP, and all involved staff are aware.
- Provide PO status reports to team members as required.
- Data Entry is performed with a very high level of accuracy.

Accountability for process management:

- Locally - ensuring that purchasing team members provide you with clear instruction as to the requirements for both product, and order management.
- Outside - working with third parties such as our suppliers to ensure they are also working to standards and provide regular updates, and that where issues occur, situations are escalated though appropriate channels.

- Excel - Mid to Advanced.
- Packaging and printing experience.
- Product standard for Importing in Australia.
- Product Life-cycle Management.
- General Inventory Management.
- Grasp of industry customers within the following areas: Independent Discounters, Discount Department Stores, Department Stores, Grocery & Online - and their general requirements.
