**Assistant Manager - Purchasing at Hyatt Centric Melbourne**

As the Assistant Manager - Purchasing, you will be responsible for the efficient running of the Materials department ensuring the most competitive purchase prices and effective receiving /storage systems in accordance with the Hyatt international standards.

Some of the responsibilities include:

- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices and other trade terms.
- Manage, maintain and oversee purchasing systems to ensure all requests are approved and purchased at competitive prices
- Training team members & colleagues from both the Materials department and other departments on use of procurement system.
- Monitoring all costs in the department and recommend/institute measures to control them
- Ensuring every department in the hotel receives goods and services as required and orders are placed in correct manner with correct approval
- Implementation on all operating and control procedures to ensure that movements of goods into and within the hotel are properly accounted for
- Obtaining and coordinating all product and purchase specifications from the various heads of department.

**Qualifications**:
**About you**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Materials / Purchasing Supervisorial role (or similar role) within a large operation
- Experience in a hotel is advantageous
- Fantastic communication skills and confident to deal with / negotiate with suppliers
- A strong attention to detail and great organization skills
- A self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure
- Confident in Microsoft MS Suite
