The Development Compliance and Support Team is responsible for managing a diverse range of complex development assessment matters working with TMR's Regions and Districts, other technical specialists, as well as officers from the State Assessment and Referral Agency and Economic Development Queensland. In the role of Manager (Development Compliance and Support), you will lead a team that provides guidance and drive's continual improvement across TMR for development assessment by promoting consistency and drawing on state-wide insights to foster shared learning, drives innovation and develops procedural, policy, system and legislative improvements.

**The role will include but is not limited to**:

- Lead and manage a team responsible for providing guidance and direction for all aspects of development assessment in TMR working with TMR's regions and districts.
- Engage with officers from the State Assessment and Referral Agency and Economic Development Queensland to lead negotiations on complex development matters ensuring that TMR's interests and jurisdiction are protected whilst also enabling development.
- Working with TMR's regions and districts to establish and manage a development assessment compliance and enforcement function for TMR.
- Engage with a range of stakeholders internal and external to TMR on development assessment matters establishing and maintaining positive and constructive working relationships.
- Support TMR's development assessment function by using insights gathered from statewide learnings to instigate continuous improvement in procedures, policy and legislation and actively promote shared learning in development assessment across TMR.
- Provide professional advice on a wide range of development assessment matters often complex, urgent and sensitive to the Director, Executive Director or General Manager.
- Provide strategic direction for the management of the eDAM system, including setting direction for a program of system enhancements to drive continuous improvement and consistency in development assessment and ensuring sound Information and Communication Technology (ICT) governance and contract management requirements are maintained.
- Coordinate with other areas of TMR to support appeals processes including attend and/or coordinate attendance at meetings, negotiations and mediations with legal advisors, counsel and expert witnesses associated with Planning and Environment Court Appeals.
- Promote a team environment that values performance, continuous improvement, and adherence to public sector accountabilities in the delivery of high-quality services.

- Although not mandatory, qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Law, or knowledge and experience in development assessment, compliance and enforcement and the Planning and Environment Court, is highly regarded.
