**The role**

Oversee the Technology & Operations function in risk management matters, while partnering with the business to provide strategic advice and guidance. You will pay a pivotal role in creating a balanced risk environment that fosters innovation and efficiency, while maintaining a strong risk culture, from a Second Line of Defence perspective. Additionally, this role contributes to technology and data risk management, collaborating with other risk teams to understand and mitigate technology-related risks.

**What you’ll do**
- Provide oversight and challenge of the identification, assessment and monitoring of all risks, obligations, and controls across the Technology function
- Support the business in achieving desired risk culture by reporting and escalating opportunities or inadequacies in risk management practices and activities
- Provide advice and oversight to the business on the interpretation and implementation of Suncorp policies and frameworks
- Provide advice to the business based on insights derived from internal / external data trends and forecasts
- Partner with business leadership teams to ensure effective risk management by providing strategic and tactical risk management advice. Must be able to interpret and clarify complex technology and data issues and their financial and risk implications
- Represent the Risk Function as a key stakeholder on initiatives and change opportunities

**What you’ll bring**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline (business, commerce, risk or technology (desired)
- 5+ years of relevant risk management experience
- Proven Second Line of Defence experience in oversight of technology and data risk
- Demonstrated understanding of digital, technology and data risk management (including cyber security), along with an ongoing interest in best practice security protocols and emerging technology trends
