Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)...Your chance to work with the best
Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class 'ETCS' signalling system.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
About the Role
The New Gold Coast Stations (NGCS) package of works includes the delivery of three new rail stations on the Gold Coast Line at Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac. These projects will include parking, pedestrian and cycle path connections, platform access, integration to existing public transport networks, lighting, and CCTV.
Reporting to the Director, Safety the Safety Manager - NGCS provides leadership, support and guidance on safety matters for the CRRDA across the NGCS package of works. The role will be responsible for leading the implementation and maintenance of our safety systems and initiatives across the project while supporting and coaching senior management on contemporary safety practices. The position also entails stakeholder liaison with our key contracting partners regarding coordination of safety assurance activities.
This position will initially be based out of our Brisbane CBD office in Brisbane's CBD but can transition to a hybrid Gold Coast site / Brisbane office arrangement as the project progresses if this suits. This opportunity is offered as a three-year contract and represents a fantastic opportunity for a health and safety management professional to gain exceptional career growth opportunities working on a historic Queensland infrastructure project.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Develop CRRDA safety processes and initiatives that support safety ownership by line managers.

- Coordinate safety compliance and assurance activities and analyse and report on outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of CRRDA's H&S management system.
- Oversee and review the process and outcomes of safety incident investigations and share best practices across the project.
- Prepare high level correspondence include briefing notes and reports.
- Establish safety forums and liaise with internal and external stakeholders including contractors.
- Review safety systems and identify business improvement activities, risk mitigation strategies and supporting treatment plans.
