**THE ROLE**
The Housing Services Officer role is a client facing position which supports the delivery of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's housing program and play a vital role in supporting client-centered services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing.
- Housing Services Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Assess client's needs and provide comprehensive advice on housing options from a range of established policy, procedures and standards.
- Make appropriate referrals to internal or external support service providers in order to assist clients with their short-term housing needs.
- Use influence, negotiation and logical persuasion skills in dealing with clients and stakeholders on all housing matters.
