Sadly, our current qualified Educator is stepping back due to graduated retirement. We are looking to find an experienced Educator to step into this position and continue the meaningful work of helping to shape and ready little minds and bodies for lifelong learning.

We form part of a small and intimate play school environment that has capacity for up to 22 children. We operate and are part of the Duntroon Community Centre whose main aim is to support Defence families both serving and veteran here in Canberra. As such, we share meaningful and close-knit partnerships between children, educators, families and the community alike.
- A love for young children and their education/care;
- appropriate working rights for Australia;
- a current Working with Vulnerable People Check (ACT);
- Proven ability to follow policies and procedures;
- a valid first aid and CPR qualification;
- proven experience within this field (minimum 3 years or more);
- the ability to confidently lead a room in the absence of the Playschool Director.

**Main Duties**:

- Provide care and education to young children;
- plan and prepare opportunities for safe play and stimulation;
- follow procedures, policies and practices;
- monitor, record and evaluate children’s learning and development;
- to provide active supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of each child;
- to provide an age-appropriate routine that allows children to settle into Playschool and separate confidently and comfortably from their family.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $29.99 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 17 per week
