Policy development and implementation, business development, sales pursuit or consulting in the technology industry
- Extensive background in IT in commercial/public sector pursuit management to identify, shape and lead competitive procurement for complex deals
- Must have demonstrated experience managing programs of work with complex changing requirements and diverse internal and external stakeholder groups
- Strong gravitas to engage with senior officials, customers, and influencers to drive change
- Must have the ability to work effectively across internal and external organisations
Job summary
The AWS Capture team works with federal government departments, state and local governments, public corporations, education institutions, EdTech firms, non-profit entities, and healthcare organisations as well as our AWS Partner Network. Our vision is to help public institutions in ANZ make a significant impact on the lives of citizens, by using AWS Cloud services.
AWS is known for an unwavering customer obsession and this role is critical in identifying and shaping long term customer outcomes. This role will collaborate with a range of teams across AWS, including sales, marketing, partner, business development, legal and public policy and business leaders to develop and agree on strategic pursuits and work with sales leaders to define inputs, develop win themes and shaping strategies for future procurement of AWS Cloud and AWS Partners.
You will be part of a team responsible for leading and evolving the most strategic opportunities in the ANZ public sector. You’ll drive change with customers, partners, and internal teams, and write compelling business cases to win support for delivering creative/non-standard approaches and solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key executives and change champions within both Public Sector and AWS Partner organisations.
- Work with a multitude of customer, partner, and internal AWS teams to orchestrate opportunity development and win related pursuits
- Work with the broader in-country industry advisors/consultants, industry bodies and other entities that influence procurement environments, to shape and develop long-term strategies
- Help customers, partners, and industry at-large, to understand the nuances of public cloud in general, and cloud procurement in particular, to develop a cloud conducive environment for the public sector
- Commercial and public sector experience, especially in government procurement processes
- Experience in the technology sector (including Cloud) advantageous - strong commercial qualifications in Government procurement from a National Security and/or Infrastructure and Transport portfolio perspective also highly valued
