About the Business Unit
The Adult Parole Board of Victoria (the Board) is an independent statutory authority, established under the Corrections Act 1986. The Board provides a framework that enables offenders to undertake a step by-step re-entry into the community. When deciding whether to release an offender on parole, the Board considers the interests of the community, the rights of the victim, the intentions of the sentencing authority and the needs of the offender. In all its decision-making, the Board's paramount consideration is community safety.
Casual contract until 30/09/23 with possibility of extension
About the Role
The role requires the individual to perform a range of administrative tasks and activities associated with the management and preparation of cases that fall under the jurisdiction of the Board. The role will suit a highly motivated individual who is committed to fostering a collaborative environment, is outcome and solutions focussed and keen to make a difference.
**Some of your duties may include**:
- Preparation of hard copy and electronic files that relate to offenders who come under the jurisdiction of the Board.
- Collate, update and check that all relevant reports and documents are attached to Board e-files.
- Undertake a range of administrative and file management functions including filing, scanning, file maintenance, validation
- Creation and preparation of Board hearing transcripts
About You
- Well-developed communication skills including the ability to liaise with a wide range of people.
- The ability to set priorities and work effectively in terms of quality, accuracy and quantity of output under pressure from strict timelines and workload demands.
- An appropriate qualification and/or experience is desirable.
