Governance and Assurance Officer

**About the role**

On a daily basis you will:

- Provide exceptional technical and administrative support to the Governance and Risk team.
- Assist in managing and overseeing the internal audit program.
- Prepare reports, coordinate, and support the ARIC operations.
- Maintain legislation-based systems and registers crucial to our governance framework.
- Offer governance and assurance advice as needed.
- Support the preparation and facilitation of Council Meetings, including logistics like room bookings and catering, agenda preparation, and minute-taking.
- Coordinate and complete specific projects as directed by the Manager of Governance and Risk.

**About the person**
- You possess strong administrative and technical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- You are adept at managing multiple projects and can effectively coordinate meetings and events.
- You have excellent communication skills and can prepare comprehensive reports and submissions.
- You are a proactive team player, ready to offer advice and support across the governance and risk management areas.
- A proven track record in governance, assurance, or a related field, ideally within a public sector or council environment will be highly regarded.
