**The Opportunity**:
The Bid Manager position is an integral part of the development of pursuits and winning proposals. You will be part of a national team of bid professionals and work closely with key account managers and technical staff to ensure consistency in the implementation of our business development process, particularly the pursuit and tendering of opportunities. You will be responsible for managing and ensuring the correct bid process is followed, incorporating lessons learnt from previous bids as part of the strategy development in conjunction with the pursuit leaders. We are after someone to work predominantly in the Property & Buildings sector, bringing local and national knowledge of the sector to the business. You will work with our in-house design studio to bring the wow factor to our bid submissions to help WSP stand out from the crowd.
**What you’ll do**:
- Manage the pursuit development and proposal submission processes, ensuring they align with the WSP BD process
- Work predominantly in the Property & Buildings sector, providing strategic advice in to identifying and qualifying decisions to pursue/bid appropriate opportunities
- You will need to demonstrate strong experience in pursuits and proposals and membership of the Association for Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) would be valued
- This is a hands-on role and you will be facilitating strategy development, writing non-technical sections and managing technical, financial, and inputs by engaging with key contributors across the business
- Workshop/storyboard content with tendering teams to guide the development of content that is client-focused, compelling, comprehensible and compliant with the client’s request
- You will bring experience and confidence to advise and coach teams for presentations and interviews with clients
- Coach/mentor/educate staff in bidding practices and company BD processes
- You will also have excellent writing and editing skills, with an ability to influence and engage others
**What we’ll love about you**:
- Degree qualified in business, marketing, communications or journalism or equivalent experience
- You will have a minimum of 7+ years experience in winning work, sales, journalism or marketing
- Experience in professional services is preferable
- You will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure while maintaining control, be well organised, efficient and have high attention to detail
- Your ability to influence, engage and build trust with others will be key to succeeding in this role as well as your ability to successfully manage your time and workload
