The Role

We have a genuinely rewarding opportunity providing comfort and help for our residents when they need it most, for a Village Support Officer to join our village located at Highvale Retirement Village in Glen Waverly.

Our residents are independent retirees who have sought the company and safety of living in a community of like-minded individuals with service provided that give them and their families the reassurance that they will be cared for if the need arises.

Shifts will be a mixture of daytime shifts (7.5 Hours) and afternoon shifts 5.5hrs that continues with sleepover shifts (overnight 9.00pm to 7.00am) on a permanent part time basis. Additional assistance maybe required for leave coverage.

About You- A current Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain)- The ability to make critical decisions and remain calm under pressure.- Be motivated and able to take initiative- Basic computer Skills (desirable)

Duties will include responding to resident enquiries, overseeing our community facilities, conducting welfare checks on residents and referring them to our home care provider, assisting with our colourful events, responding to call outs, undertaking first aid and initiating emergency services where required such as Fire Warden and evacuating residents in case of fire. You may be required to assist with other tasks around the village as directed.

Please note: The successful applicant must complete a Police Check, will be required to receive an annual flu vaccination between the months of April-October as well as provide proof of the COVID-19 Vaccination with supporting documentation prior to joining. For selected roles more physical in nature such as this position, pre-employment medical assessments may also be required prior to any employment offers being made.
