Role purpose
The Principal Technical Analyst - Geographic Information System (GIS) role is responsible for leading the design, development and configuration services of GIS related system solutions.

**Duties include**:

- Writing and communicating technical requirements for new and ongoing projects.
- Tracking, resolving, and documenting root causes of user technical problems.
- Developing and delivering operational reports and summaries of problems or technical difficulties.
- Assessing infrastructure and platform tools to judge feasibility and usefulness of available tools and resources.
- Maintaining and updating software, hardware, and training materials.

Technical expertise
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) implementation, maintenance and support.
- Advanced knowledge of the following GIS technologies:

- ArcGIS product suite
- VertiGIS product suite including Geocortex
- Knowledge on integration patterns related to GIS solution implementation.
- Knowledge of Google place and Google map technical implementation is desirable.

**Qualifications**:

- A relevant IT related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous to this role.
- Agile project experience will be advantageous.
