These will involve assessments of conduct and competence as well as fitness issues, including impairments and criminal offences. Using their strong ability to conduct timely and focused assessments, the Investigator role will contribute to VIT achieving its strategic objectives, meeting community expectations and providing for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

**About the role**

2 Year Fixed Term | Salary range: $89,004 to $100,984 plus statutory superannuation.

Be part of a forward-thinking, risk based regulator where ideas and opinions are valued. This role will require you to:

- Assess and triage incoming matters based on sound risk assessment
- Prepare detailed reports that provide authoritative advice and make recommendations on complex issues for individual teachers
- Analyse large volumes of information, identify issues, and source relevant information and documentation to inform the assessment
- Demonstrate accountability in respect of managing risk to the safety and wellbeing of children
- Provide specialist support to the Senior Investigators and Investigations Manager to enable high quality assessments and regulatory activity to be undertaken within agreed timeframes
- Communicate clearly, effectively and sensitively with registered teachers
- Work collaboratively across VIT to contribute to the delivery of outcomes aligned with the Strategic Plan, model the Victorian public sector values and VIT behaviours and contribute to a positive culture and working environment both within the Conduct and Compliance Team and across VIT.

**About you**

You will have sound and practical knowledge of conducting investigations and/or undertaking suitability or like assessments in a regulatory context of making recommendations for regulatory action.

- Experience in conducting investigations in a regulatory environment is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience, qualifications or training in investigations, or a related discipline are highly desirable
- An understanding of working in a government investigative environment is desirable.
