The role Reporting to the System and Departmental Liaison Officer, Office of the Director-General, you will manage, coordinate, edit and prepare correspondence and briefing notes to ensure the provision of high quality, timely, coordinated advice and information for the Minister for Health and the Director-General.
**This will include**: - Provide comprehensive administrative support including word processing, filing, deliveries, photocopying, reception duties, telephone enquiries and other clerical support activities. Coordinate, prepare, edit, proofread and prioritise correspondence, briefing notes and other documentation in keeping with government and organisational initiatives, policies and Departmental standards and guidelines. Manage, coordinate, prioritise and action requests for information from the Minister for Health and the Director-General. - Assist in the maintenance of various Department of Health databases, document management and filing systems to ensure data integrity and that information can be easily identified, accessed and retrieved. - Contribute to improvements to the correspondence work systems, procedures and guidelines to ensure the provision of quality and timely information and documentation for the Minister for Health and the Director-General. Generate and critically analyse statistical reports to monitor the status and quality of documentation. Assist with the delivery of training, advice and support to staff at all levels across the Department of Health in the preparation of correspondence for the Minister for Health and the Director-General.
- Proven ability to research, analyse information, problem solve and prepare and edit responses and briefing notes for the Minister for Health and the Director-General. High level of organisational skills, including an ability to effectively manage high volumes of incoming and outgoing correspondence and conflicting work priorities to ensure critical deadlines are met and confidentiality and privacy principles are observed. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as an effective team member to achieve goals of the work unit.

The Ministerial and Executive Services Unit (MESU) coordinates the flow of information across Queensland Health and externally to stakeholders in support of the Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women (the Minister) and Director-General. MESU also manages critical and emergent issues, incoming health inquiries and correspondence.
