**Who we are**
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s CFO Division provides a range of essential advice and services enabling the department to deliver its strategic objectives. Our advice and services cover financial management, the budget process, procurement, travel, property & protective security and information technology.

The Property and Protective Security Branch is responsible for enhancing the department’s business capability through the effective management of the department’s property portfolio, property enabling functions, protective security, emergency management, as well as a range of corporate site services and commercial contracts nationally.

The Business Continuity and Emergency Management team is responsible for developing and maintaining the department's Business Continuity and Emergency Management frameworks to ensure safety and the continuance of departmental critical functions in all disruption events.

**The Job**
Assistant Director, Business Continuity is responsible for assisting in establishing and maintaining the department's business continuity framework and supporting the management of incidents. You will also provide liaison between the whole-of-government crisis coordination bodies and the department.

Reporting to the Director Business Continuity and Emergency Management you will:

- ensure that the business continuity management framework is compliant with the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy, relevant legislation, standards and guidelines
- establish and implement the department’s annual business continuity program to ensure that business continuity plans support the department’s critical functions
- respond to business disruptions as they occur
- provide support and coordination within the department of whole-of-government arrangements in accordance with the Australian Government Crisis Management Framework

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
Demonstrated understanding and experience of, or the ability to acquire the following, would be highly regarded:

- Legislation, standards, better practice guides, policies, procedures, frameworks and information management requirements relevant to business continuity management.

**Skills and capabilities**
Applicants should have the ability to:

- manage challenging programs and competing priorities to deliver outcomes within deadlines
- remain calm during crises, demonstrating sound judgement and providing expert advice
- drive improvement in business continuity management capability
- develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
