**The Role**
Nowhere else in Defence can you get the huge breadth and diversity of complex commercial, contracting and procurement activities.
MPB delivers quality commercial, contracting and procurement leadership and support across all major capital acquisition and sustainment products within the Department of Defence. The high performing team delivers quality commercial outcomes across the Defence capability lifecycle including development of commercial and acquisition strategies, delivering procurement processes (including approach to market documentation development, evaluation, negotiation and probity support) as well as commercial and contract management support.
As a Senior Contracting Officer within MPB you will be responsible for the provision of commercial, contracting and procurement advice and support into commercial strategies, development of Approach to Market documentation, conduct of procurement including evaluation, negotiation and probity support as well as commercial support in relation to contract management issues and risks. In addition, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of specialist advice including legal, financial and AIC.
You will be responsible for developing and managing a high performing team, developing and fostering productive relationships with stakeholders and clients, communicating with influence and driving for commercial outcomes that comply with Commonwealth Government legislation and policy requirements. You will have access to a range of professionalisation opportunities to help enhance your skills, leadership and expertise.
The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.
It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.
