**The Role**
An EL 1 Business Intelligence Manager is accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes.

They will manage one or more teams. They will develop and implement work plans, set performance indicators, and review individual, team and business performance, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement. They will set work that align with the strategic objectives and communicate expected outcomes.

The key functions performed by the EL 1 Business Intelligence Manager include:

- Accountable for supporting business intelligence by providing advice on related policy, undertaking complex to very complex problem solving and issues management for stakeholders;
- Accountable for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people;
- Operate legally and in compliance with public policy. Build knowledge of relevant legislation and contribute to the development of Defence policies and procedures to ensure they continue to support business outcomes;
- Provide strategic context and consider the ramifications of issues and longer term impact of own work and work area to meet business objectives;
- Build and sustain strong interactive relationships, liaise with a range of stakeholders to deliver business intelligence objectives;
- Motivate and mentor teams, aligning complementary skills and allocates resources in a manner that delivers results;
- Assess, evaluate and improve data quality, business intelligence strategy, initiatives, projects, policy and procedures;

**About our Team**
Cyber Operations Division (COD) is responsible for the integration, operation, management and security of Defence's global strategic communications capability that enable military operations and support Defence business. COD is also responsible at the strategic level to the Chief of Defence Force and Chief of Joint Operations for advice and technical control for the Command, Control, Communications and Cyber security in support of ADF Operations.

An EL 1 Business Intelligence Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice. They will have in-depth knowledge of the business analysis function and are responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to their work within that function. They will engage in complex to very complex problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence.

An EL 1 Business Intelligence Manager is accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes. They will manage one or more teams. They will develop and implement work plans, set performance indicators, and review individual, team and business performance, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement. They will set work that align with the strategic objectives and communicate expected outcomes.

An EL 1 Business Intelligence Manager will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of their work area.
