Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist to support our Global Supply Chain Category Management Strategy team in Melbourne, Florida.
The Category Management Strategy Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist assesses supplier economics, perform analysis, and define strategies to streamline parts within defined categories. Confers with multiple suppliers, analyze operations to determine factors that affect prices, and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Identifies opportunities for long-term contracts, reduction in complexity, and improved total cost of ownership. Defines long-term agreements, release requests for quotations for high-dollar requirements, review proposals, negotiate strategically significant contracts, select or recommend suppliers, and compile information to keep informed trends. Engages in the make-buy process. Coordinates relationship strategy for suppliers who cross-defined categories. Execute opportunity levers as defined by category.
- Support assessment and identification of category opportunities
- Support supplier diversity and communicate diversity goals to category management leads
- Manage qualification and onboarding for new suppliers
- Ensure the most up-to-date knowledge of category market, including innovations and key new emerging technologies
- Sourcing various commodities across multiple programs
- Perform robust “should-cost” pricing analysis, source analysis for long term agreements and high-dollar requirements
- Proficiency in the procurement process, including but not limited to price analysis, negotiations, risk management
- Ability to understand engineering practices and work within the technology arena to further the connection between the technology roadmaps and Global Supply Chain
- Interfacing and collaborating with Programs and other organizations within and outside of Global Supply Chain
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years’ experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years’ experience in Business, Program Management, or Supply Chain
- Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations, DFARs and terms and conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building teams, interacting with multifunctional roles/dept
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Budgeting experience and EVM knowledge
- Solid understanding of engineering/technical requirements
Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $103,900.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
