Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Sharp & Carter Supply Chain Full time $120,000 - $250,000 per year

The Company

Our client is a respected and fast-growing industrial manufacturer and distributor, supplying a diverse product range to major retail and wholesale customers across Australia and international markets. With a strong production base in Asia and established global distribution channels, the business has achieved consistent double-digit returns while continuing to invest in systems, people, and operational excellence.

With growth accelerating across Australia, Asia, and the US, and a newly appointed CFO and CEO driving a clear strategic direction, the business is entering a transformative phase focused on scalability, optimisation, and global reach.

The Opportunity

This newly created Head of Supply Chain role offers a rare opportunity to design and lead a global logistics and supply chain network that will enable sustainable growth and operational performance across multiple regions.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take end-to-end ownership of global shipping, freight forwarding, 3PL management, and warehousing operations — including the design and execution of new (greenfield) supply chain infrastructure across international markets.

Based in Melbourne, this role will oversee supply chain operations across Australia, Asia, and the US, ensuring optimal cost-to-serve, service delivery, and scalability. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and key logistics partners to deliver a unified, high-performing supply chain network aligned with the company's commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the global supply chain function across Asia, Australia, and the US.
  • Develop and implement an integrated logistics and distribution strategy across regions.
  • Manage international shipping, freight forwarding, and 3PL operations, including greenfield set-up and partner selection.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound freight flows, ensuring visibility, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Strengthen and renegotiate commercial agreements with key logistics partners.
  • Build scalable warehousing and distribution frameworks to support growth and diversification.
  • Drive S&OP integration to improve demand planning, inventory control, and service levels.
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO on working capital optimisation and cash flow management.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, system development, and digital enablement across the network.
  • Build capability and structure to support the company's long-term international expansion.

About You

You are an accomplished supply chain professional with a proven track record in global shipping, freight forwarding, and 3PL operations, ideally within industrial manufacturing, or import/distribution environments. You bring commercial acumen, operational discipline, and the ability to operate strategically while staying hands-on in execution.

You will also bring:

  • Strong end-to-end supply chain leadership.
  • Deep understanding of international logistics, shipping, and freight management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading 3PL operations and greenfield logistics setups across multiple regions.
  • Sound knowledge of S&OP, demand planning, and inventory management.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness focused on cost, cash flow, and performance.
  • Excellent relationship management and influencing skills across partners and internal stakeholders.
  • An agile, practical leadership style suited to a lean, fast-paced business.

What's on Offer

  • Strategic, high-impact global role with genuine ownership.
  • Opportunity to build and shape the global supply chain network.
  • Strong executive team support and clear growth trajectory.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial culture with room to develop.
