Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.

John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.

**About the Role**:
Delivery of the Gold Coast Light Rail has commenced, John Holland is actively recruiting for a talented and driven People Manager a with a background in Project HR/IR to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.

Responsibilities of the role include;
- Provide strategic people direction as part of the project leadership team.
- Lead a team of dedicated project-based People resources.
- Champion and lead all project people activities including employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, performance and development, remuneration reviews, training, and project lifecycle initiatives.
- Support and deliver the Projects IR strategy
- Minimise the prospect of Industrial Action during Project delivery by providing support and advice to the front-line supervision, HSE teams regarding consultation, dispute resolution, various ER matters and interpretation of Project EA
- Support project delivery staff with IR/ER training, education and knowledge sharing
- Share IR/ER lessons learnt with project delivery staff to be proactive in risk assessment
- Record and manage the Right of Entry database
- Manage project resourcing and onboarding, along with embed best practice people solutions on the project.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you must have:

- Qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations or other related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience providing senior level strategic HR leadership
- Experience working in HR/IR on a large construction project
- Knowledge of QLD Government’s Procurement Policy including Best Practice Principles (a nice to have not a must have)
- Leadership skills and the ability to create effective teams with a strong focus on delivering outcomes
- Management experience in performance management and addressing under performance as required
- Ability to influence, negotiate, delegate and make decisions that contribute to the strong performance of projects
