The Premier Visiting Artist Program is a collaboration between Edith Cowan University and the Minderoo Foundation. The collaboration enables the engagement of internationally renowned and inspirational Premier Visiting Artists to provide extraordinary teaching and learning opportunities for WAAPA students.
The Role
WAAPA is seeking an Artist Coordinator to plan and execute engagements with internationally renowned and inspirational, Premier Visiting Artists. Working closely with the Operations Manager and the Premier Visiting Artist Committee, your responsibilities will include regular project reporting, the coordination of logistics such as travel, accommodation and schedules, ensuring seamless communication between artists and WAAPA. You will facilitate workshops, performances and public appearances for community outreach and work closely with marketing and development teams to promote events and enhance audience engagement.
This role requires exceptional organisation skills, cultural sensitivity and a passion for the arts. You will be an excellent communicator, capable of working both independently and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be adaptable, comfortable working to tight deadlines and will have well developed problem-solving skills to resolve issues and devise mutually beneficial solutions.
Key Criteria
To be successful in this role you will have experience planning and executing artist engagements. You will be able to demonstrate:
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules and logistics efficiently.
Highly developed relationship building, communication, and negotiation skills, including expertise in written and oral communication,
The ability to act with high levels of autonomy, initiative, adaptability, and with attention to detail.
A strong network of relationships within the arts community and a genuine enthusiasm for artistic expression and cultural exchange.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.
Benefits & Remuneration
This part time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $100,512 to $112,622 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
