The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill multiple** Product Owner (EL1)**roles in the Data Sourcing Division to help us modernise our data acquisition environment. These roles are part of a larger Program that identifies, develops and implements future focused investments that reduce the cost and risk of data sourcing and support improvements to the provider experience, and deliver a more modern, efficient, partner led Data Sourcing Division.

**About the role**

Product Owners work with the Product Team to prioritise and shape requirements, in alignment with the Program Backlog and Feature Roadmap, that create and improve a product or service ensuring it meets user needs. They are responsible for prioritising product component delivery, according to greatest user needs and in alignment with Program scope & benefits.

Responsibilities of these roles include:

- Lead the Team Backlog Refinement and actively contribute to Sprint Planning, Standups, Retrospectives, and Showcases
- Support the Scrum Master by actively contributing to Sprint activities and ceremonies
- Partner with the Product Manager and other Product Owners to ensure implementation level alignment of requirements, designs, and PI objectives
- Contribute to product level strategy, vision, and road mapping
- Provide a deep understanding of the specific product and how to maximise value for users
- In collaboration with the Product Manager, manage and prioritise the product backlog

To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities and experience:

- Stakeholder relationship management - influencing stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for mutual benefit.
- User experience evaluation - validating systems, products or services against user experience goals, metrics and targets.
- User experience analysis - understanding the context of use for systems, products and services and specifying user experience requirements and design goals.
- Product Management - managing and developing products or services through their full life cycle from inception, growth, maturity, decline to retirement.
- User research - identifying users' behaviours, needs and motivations using observational research methods.
- Demand Management - analysing and proactively managing business demand for new services or modifications to existing service features or volumes.
- Requirements Definition and Management - managing requirements through the entire delivery and operational life cycle.
