**THE COMPANY & POSITION**

Replant & Regenerate yourself with this fifth-generation Australian farming family that has evolved into a vertically integrated, multi-faceted farming, food production, retail & hospitality powerhouse with further massive expansion plans underway.

Due to ongoing growth plans they require a highly astute Horticultural Industry expert to take charge of a 22Ha working farm with an underlining ethos of regenerative farming practices which includes a market garden, vineyard, tree crops, & olive grove in the heart of Canberra.

The property has recently been expanded with new infrastructure. Across all sites they have over 55,000 sqm of plantings with over 100 varieties produced annually, yielding approx. 5 tonnes of produce per week.

Your core responsibility will be for all aspects of the Market Garden planning and production. This includes the design, delivery and operation of associated infrastructure including plant & equipment. Managing, recruiting and leading a team to produce a planting and harvesting schedule of fruit and vegetables that meets the requirements of the hospitality, wholesale, retail divisions in a financial and operational sense to the highest quality standards.

In addition you will be commercially astute & thrive on the challenge of being involved in the wider business divisions of wholesale, retail, value added produces, Ready to Eat Meals (RTE’s), & farm kitchen.

To be successful you will possess strong business acumen to achieve the financial goals and growth plans whilst overseeing the market gardens team and implement both the short team and long-term objectives of the company in terms of sustainability, design, presentation and commercial yields.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work closely with the management, external consultants & your team in the production of fruit & vegetables for current & future demands.
- Manage the overall presentation of the Market Gardens in a ‘hands on’ manner & lead the production team by example.
- Growing of fruits, vegetables, herbs & spices, salad greens & microgreens etc.
- Ongoing management of crops to maximise quality and yield.
- Management of budgets in terms of plantings, upkeep & inputs.
- Identify new market opportunities to grow the business successfully.
- Implement best practice horticulture with mínimal use of chemicals.
- Conduct occasional farm tours & assist to prepare & present gardening master classes.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**
- Background as a Horticulturalist.
- A solid understanding of soils, planting, pruning & growing seasons.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a market garden in commercially successfully manner.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management.
- Strong financial and business acumen, coupled with strong communication skills and strategic thinking.
- Implementation of regenerative & sustainable farming practices across the property.
