Our client is a leader in Australia’s biggest public transport infrastructure program, and they are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join their team on a 6-month contract.

The main purpose of this role is to develop and present sound financial analysis of business and financial performance information and data. You will be instrumental in developing tools, support systems and benchmarks to support the development, implementation, and continued monitoring of financial management to ensure program costs, accruals and forecasts are accurately recorded and reported.

**Key accountabilities**
- Coordinate payments to service providers in a timely manner.
- Provide proactive business and financial performance information and analysis for inclusion in monthly management accounts to ensure relevant and timely financial information to management and to the Board.
- Develop and maintain processes, systems, and controls to ensure access to required information to enable the production of required financial information.
- Present thoroughly researched and reliable analytical financial advice on issues of major importance prepare briefs for the senior management as required.
- Respond to enquiries regarding project expenditure and funding using, but not limited to SAP and Excel, and provide and interpret advice and data for reporting purposes.

- Ensuring information provided is based on sound and reliable data to provide the best possible financial analysis and review.
- Providing systems that deal with the complexity of operations but also provide the necessary transparency for analysis, evaluation, and reporting.
- Adapting to a dynamic work environment as it evolves and progresses through substantial change.

**Decision making**

This role operates with a high level of autonomy, while establishing operational priorities in consultation with the Manager. You will be expected to deliver assigned projects on time and at or below budget. You will be fully accountable for the quality, integrity and accuracy of expert advice provided.

**Essential requirements**
- Must have a Degree level qualification in accounting, economics, or commerce from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Must have previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite/Excel essential.
- Excellent communication and attention to detail.

A daily rate of $610-$710 (depending on experience) is on offer.
