**About the role**:
We are looking for an **Associate, Data Reform and Strategy** to join our dynamic team in the Shaping Futures Branch, Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC)

Shaping Futures is the NSW Government’s central strategic foresight and intelligence branch that uses futures and data analytics techniques to deliver insights and advice to senior decision makers, develop strategic intelligence platforms and services and drive system reforms to enhance evidence-based policy, budget, and delivery decisions. The team supports decision makers navigate uncertainty, and anticipate and influence change so they can deliver positive outcomes for NSW communities

In this role, you'll tackle policy and project work that supports DPC's intelligence and policy needs, and contribute to our crucial role in NSW and national data reforms. You'll be instrumental in designing and delivering projects that enhance DPC and sector data capability. Your key accountabilities will include supporting collaboration with NSW and national agencies, preparing and maintaining project documentation on data system reforms, and sourcing and compiling data and information to identify emerging issues and track project progress. You'll also undertake research, analysis, and identify trends to support informed decision-making and planning.

But this role isn't for the faint of heart - you'll need to manage competing project priorities and requirements, work collaboratively and efficiently with key stakeholders across multiple agencies and portfolios, and navigate complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations. And you'll be working on projects where there may be no obvious blueprint or precedent, so you'll need to bring your creativity and problem-solving skills to the table.

- Knowledge of data governance, data analytics, and community engagement principles and practices.
- Ability to undertake research, analyse and identify trends, and use data to support informed decision-making and planning.
- Experience solving complex problems related to the collection, sharing, use, or analysis of data in government or non-government contexts.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage competing project priorities and requirements in a high-volume environment with tight deadlines and incomplete information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders, coordinate meetings and activities, and facilitate exchange of information.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience and training.
