- Manage Plant Services including waste disposal, water, sewerage, electricity and gas.
- Engage Site Contractors by ensuring negotiations favourable and on-site compliance
- Manage Site Compliance and Licensing for Pressure vessels, dangerous goods, EPA and related
- Ensure OH&S is front of mind with maintenance staff & contractor compliance / investigation related to equipment & site incidents / site & equipment compliance
- Assistance with capital projects including design, quotation & execution
- Responsible for Maintenance spares inventory & consumables
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
**Output Areas**
- Ensure site, utilities, equipment, electrical and automation systems are maintained as per maintenance/calibration schedule and GMP requirements.
- Ensure the maintenance, calibration and inspections of site assets in conjunction with other departments where appropriate.
- Ensure the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS - SAP) is accurate and up to date in order to efficiently drive, track and control maintenance activities across the site.
- Ensure that Engineering Standard Operating Procedures covering maintenance activities are current and updated.
- Supervise contractor activities relating to site, utilities, building and equipment maintenance.
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers as required, including maintenance contracts.
- Audit and report on preventative maintenance programs and contractor usage.
- Ensure site and equipment drawings are maintained and accessible as per site SOPs.
- Provide advice and assistance to the Senior Management and others as required.
- Assist in the updating and maintaining data in CMMS (SAP) related to equipment tag & BOM, spare parts, maintenance plans and others as a support member to the Maintenance Coordinator.
**Staff Management**
- Recruit to ensure that all functions of the Maintenance Department are adequately staffed and that all staff are suitably inducted and trained in company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that appropriate technical skills are available to carry out delegated responsibilities.
- Conduct (or coordinate where appropriate) ongoing staff training.
- Coordinate the maintenance team roster to ensure coverage of the site.
- Conduct formal staff appraisals as scheduled Individuals ability, performance and potential, Safety and cGMP compliance and other key elements required for the positions
- Regularly review and update Maintenance staff training requirements.
- Coach, counsel and mentor maintenance staff and other Zoetis employees as required.
**Safety**
- Ensure all Maintenance personnel work in a safety first environment in accordance with statutory requirements and site policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and review risk assessments and internal safety audits.
- Oversee the Implementation of safety recommendations and action items.
- All accidents to be reported, investigated and appropriate preventative actions put in place.
- Sit as management's representative on the Safety Committee.
**Costs and Continuous Improvement**
- Assist with the creation and adherence to the Maintenance Expenses Budget and identify ongoing requirements for corrective actions to ensure control is maintained.
- Initiate and participate in process improvement, problem solving and cost reduction programs.
- Provides technical analysis and trouble shooting for all facility, process, utilities, electrical and automation system breakdows.
- Performs equipment failure investigations to ensure that the root causes have been identified, corrective actions identified and implemented, and follow-up monitoring to determine effectiveness.
- Conducts equipment evaluations to determine the optimum maintenance strategy with regards to corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance, overhaul/replacement and surveillance activities.
**Company Policies and Procedures**
- Company Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety Standards, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and Quality System Forms are to be understood and distributed to all subordinates as appropriate
- All company policies and procedures are to be adhered to by the incumbent and all persons under the incumbents control, encouraging their full participation in the activities of the company
